I believe that government should live within its means, just like every family and small business in Talbot County. In a time of rising costs, the last thing our residents need is an increase in the property tax burden.

During my previous term, I demonstrated a commitment to fiscal responsibility, and I will bring that same discipline to the County Council:

• Spending Control is Tax Control: I will meticulously review every line item of the county budget to root out waste, eliminate inefficient spending, and ensure that every dollar delivers maximum value.
• Stable Tax Rates: My goal is to hold the line on tax rates and provide stability and predictability for homeowners, seniors on fixed incomes, and local businesses.
• Economic Vitality: I will advocate for policies that create a favorable business environment—not tax incentives—to naturally grow the county's tax base through local economic success, not by raising rates on existing residents.
• Debt Management: We must manage the county's debt responsibly and avoid taking on large, non-essential liabilities that place a burden on future generations of Talbot County taxpayers.
