Your property tax bill is going up again, and almost no one is talking about it.

Did you know that every year, the state requires Talbot County to take more of your money?

It is built into the system. The state mandates a minimum property tax increase, and most people never notice it until it has added up to something significant. It is quiet, steady, and automatic. That is exactly why it deserves more attention than it gets.

When I served as Town Council President of Easton, we read the budget line by line and asked hard questions before we spent a dime. I will bring that same discipline to the County Council. My commitment is simple: the state-mandated minimum increase should be treated as a ceiling, not a floor. If the county can operate within that limit, it should. If it cannot, it should explain exactly why, in plain language, before asking you for another penny.

This is not a partisan issue, it is your money. Whether you are a Republican, a Democrat, or something in between, you are paying more every year. That deserves attention, and it deserves someone who will make it a priority.

Early voting is October 22nd-29th and election day is November 3. If you believe Talbot County deserves a council member who will treat your tax dollars with respect, I am asking for your support. Your vote matters. Your voice matters. And if you are able to contribute, every dollar goes directly to reaching more voters in our community.
