My pledge to you
Friends,
First, thank you. Nearly 7,000 Talbot County residents voted early last week, the highest early voting rate of any county in Maryland. Thousands more have already returned mail-in ballots. If you are one of them, thank you for showing up. You have done your part, and I am grateful for every one of you who trusted me with your vote.
If you have not voted yet, Election Day is Tuesday. Before you go, I want to put my commitments in writing so you can hold me to them.
Fight for the lowest property and income tax rates in Maryland. Talbot County had the lowest property tax rate in the state until July 1. I will work to get it back, and to move our income tax from second lowest to lowest. And we will do it without cutting services.
No Flock cameras. No county money for fixed license plate readers that track everyday drivers.
No data centers in Talbot County. They may matter for national security, but they do not belong here.
Permit accountability. If the county misses its own deadline, you get your fee back. Similar to the PAyback program in Pennsylvania.
Polls are open Tuesday, November 3, from 7 AM to 8 PM. You can look up your polling place at voterservices.elections.maryland.gov. If you still have a mail-in ballot, it must be postmarked by Tuesday or placed in a drop box by 8 PM Tuesday.
Already voted and want to help us finish? A few hours on Election Day for sign waving or getting out the vote makes a real difference in a race this close.
Every dollar between now and Tuesday night keeps our ads in front of voters through the close of polls.
Thank you for your trust.
